Who are typical Sadoff Investment Management clients?

We work with most types of accounts including personal, joint, trust, IRA, profit sharing and foundations. We work with our clients on an ongoing basis. Top

Do you work with out of state clients?

While we are located in Milwaukee, WI, approximately half of our clients are located outside of Wisconsin. We have the ability to work with clients in any state. Top

What is a registered investment advisor?

A registered investment advisor (RIA) is a firm that is registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). An investment advisor registered with the SEC is required to act in a fiduciary capacity on behalf of clients. This means we are held with a higher standard of disclosure than would be found in a traditional securities brokerage environment. In addition, most RIAs are compensated on a fee basis (usually as a percentage of assets under management) rather than a commission basis.

Brokerages that do not register their representatives as RIAs are therefore required to have disclosure statements on all of their new account forms, essentially explaining that their interests are not necessarily the same as their clients' best interests, and they may also be compensated from the owners of the investment products they are offering for sale.

As a RIA we are fee only and fiduciaries to our clients. We have no proprietary products to sell or commissions to collect. We act in the best interest of our clients. Top

Why do I need an investment advisor?

There are many reasons why someone chooses to hire an investment advisor. Many clients view us as another professional such as the decision to hire a doctor or a lawyer. Others are too busy and/or do not have the expertise to manage their own investments. Over time a lot of people find that they have been mismanaging their funds, they do not have a sell strategy and they are also not making tax efficient decisions.

Often a change in an individual’s circumstances can often trigger a change in the way they deal with their investments. For example, someone may find the need for professional advice because of the need to preserve a significant lump-sum distribution from the sale of a business, an inheritance or a bonus. Hiring an investment advisor often reduces anxiety over volatile market conditions and it can free up valuable time for more enjoyable pursuits. Also it establishes a relationship with a professional advisor for continuity for a spouse or heirs. Top

How does Sadoff Investment Management operate?

Sadoff Investment Management is an independent discretionary, fee-based money management firm providing portfolio management to high net worth individuals and institutions. The firm does not take custody of any funds (we are not a broker/dealer) and derives no revenue from commissions or product sales. Accounts are held at a separate independent brokerage firm. The account is set up in your name and your assets are not commingled with other accounts.

We manage money in a discretionary manner for our clients. This is done through a trading authorization signed by our clients. Many of our clients are busy professionals and do not want to worry about giving us authority to place each trade. Thus, we do not call clients to ask permission to place each trade.

In an initial meeting, we will learn about your personal financial situation and assist in setting your financial objectives in order to meet or exceed your long-term goals. Top

How does Sadoff Investment Management make money?

Sadoff Investment Management is an independent fee-based advisor whose fees are based on a percentage of clients' assets under management. Thus our incentive is aligned with our clients'. If your investments increase in value, so does our fee. On the contrary, we do not want to see large declines in your investments. As independent advisors, we do not charge commissions or participate in investment banking which typically can lead to conflicts of interest. Typically our fees are lower than other common alternatives including no-load mutual funds, wrap accounts and full service commission accounts. Our standard fee is 1% per year, billed quarterly. Top

How does Sadoff Investment Management differ from other advisors?

Clear and simple – we have a disciplined sell strategy that most other who give financial advice do not. As we saw in 2008, most advisors and mutual funds stayed fully invested despite the worst market declines since the Great Depression. Our strategy is to provide superior long-term returns while reducing risk. We do this by reducing clients’ allocations to stocks when we predict a significant decline in stock prices. Top

What is Sadoff Investment Management’s performance history?

We believe we have a proven long-term track record. Our primary goal is to sustain superior long-term rates of return for our clients while reducing risk. We take pride in our results following our disciplined investment strategy for over three decades. It’s an approach that has proven to be repeatable and successful and has helped us create long-lasting partnerships with our clients. Please contact us for a brochure and our track record. Top

Does Sadoff Investment Management invest in individual stocks or mutual funds?

We invest in individual domestic stocks (and/or bonds) and occasionally exchange traded funds (ETF) to meet our clients’ investment goals. Mutual funds were created for the smaller investor to diversify with a small investment. The benefits of individual stocks are that we can structure a diversified portfolio according to our clients’ goals, tax situation and income needs. Hiring an investment advisor to manage mutual funds often leads to double layers of fees along with the inability to speak to the decision maker. Also, our fee is lower than the typically actively managed mutual fund. Advisors who use mutual funds are often compensated by the mutual fund company which may lead to conflicts of interest.

Our conservative strategy which we believe has had excellent long-term performance does not include the use of shorting, futures, options or short-term trading. Top
